Dr. Matt Edman has been widely recognized by U.S. law enforcement and intelligence communities and in state and federal courts as an expert on digital forensic investigations related to crypto assets and anonymous communication systems. He holds an MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where his research focused on security and applied cryptography, including the design and analysis of anonymous communication systems and novel techniques for cryptographic security and authentication in wireless networks.

Former Federal Prosecutor
Georgie MacDonald is a former federal prosecutor specializing in cyber investigations and issues at the intersection of law and digital finance. Georgie was a founding member of the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team (“NCET”), a unit within the Department of Justice’s Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section focused on prosecuting the criminal misuse of digital assets, where she worked closely with federal law enforcement agencies and financial regulators to shape enforcement priorities and policy surrounding emerging technologies.

Pete Manning
Former HSI Special Agent
Peter Manning is a former Senior Special Agent and Computer Forensics Agent with the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and an expert in blockchain and dark web investigations. In his role at HSI, Peter used his deep technical expertise to investigate a range of cyber and crypto asset-enabled crime, including crimes against children, financial crimes, and network intrusions. Using novel investigative techniques, Peter has also spent over a decade identifying, locating, and apprehending criminals who use decentralized networks to obfuscate their identities.

Dave Franzel is an open source intelligence (OSINT) expert and security technologist who specializes in blockchain and cybersecurity investigations. Dave has extensive experience supporting a range of blockchain investigations related to civil and criminal litigation with wallet attribution, flow of funds analysis, and due diligence. Prior to co-founding NAXO, Dave served in product and security roles in developing investment technology at the world’s largest hedge fund.

A former computer scientist for the FBI, Tom Kiernan specializes in digital forensic analysis and investigations involving emerging technologies and complex datasets. During his 23-year career with the FBI’s New York field office, Tom provided technical and forensic investigative support to criminal, terrorism, and national security cases. He is a recipient of the US Attorney General’s Award for Outstanding Cyber Investigation and the FBI Director’s Award for Outstanding Cyber Investigations.
