Dr. Matt Edman has been widely recognized by U.S. law enforcement and intelligence communities and in state and federal courts as an expert on digital forensic investigations related to crypto assets and anonymous communication systems. He holds an MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where his research focused on security and applied cryptography, including the design and analysis of anonymous communication systems and novel techniques for cryptographic security and authentication in wireless networks.

A former FBI Special Agent, Chris Tarbell specializes in cyber investigations and incident response. As a case agent with the FBI’s preeminent cybercrime squad in New York, he led some of the most groundbreaking cybercrime investigations in the world - including the arrest and prosecutions of Anonymous and LulzSec leadership, and the founder of the notorious Silk Road underground marketplace, the latter of which resulted in the largest seizure of bitcoins to date.
Tom Kiernan

A former computer scientist for the FBI, Tom Kiernan specializes in digital forensic analysis and investigations involving emerging technologies and complex datasets. During his 23-year career with the FBI’s New York field office, Tom provided technical and forensic investigative support to criminal, terrorism, and national security cases. He is a recipient of the US Attorney General’s Award for Outstanding Cyber Investigation and the FBI Director’s Award for Outstanding Cyber Investigations.

Dave Franzel is a skilled and creative investigator who specializes in cyber investigations, with an emphasis on social media analysis, insider threat and economic espionage investigations, investigative due diligence, and “red team” assessments. He has wide-ranging experience in cyber-related technical and operational experience along with unique expertise in Middle Eastern language investigations.
