Cliff Musto
SOFTWARE ENGINEER & DATA SCIENTIST
Cliff Musto is a data scientist and engineer specializing in advanced cyber investigations. He has a broad range of experience analyzing complex data sets and developing custom tools to uncover information about sophisticated threat actors. His career also includes extensive experience in test engineering, modeling and simulation, signal processing, inertial systems, and data analysis. Drawing on experience from multiple technical domains, Cliff excels at investigating novel technologies and identifying simple solutions to complex problems.
Prior to joining NAXO, Cliff worked as a senior data scientist contracted with a US federal law enforcement agency to develop and deploy investigative techniques targeting complex distributed systems. Utilizing open-source protocols and custom real-time data analysis capabilities, he developed a range of complementary methods that successfully revealed actionable intelligence in some of the most challenging technical environments for law enforcement. In addition to developing bespoke tooling, Cliff also led efforts to further investigate leads using a broad range of forensic analysis and open-source intelligence techniques.
Prior to his work with law enforcement, Cliff worked as an aerospace engineer on high profile defense programs. He has filed multiple patents related to turbine airfoil design and has served as the lead analyst for critical subsystems on over a dozen successful suborbital flight tests. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
