    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

    • 5 years of experience in software development in backend infrastructure, which includes testing, and launching high-quality software products.

    • 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

    • Experience coding with TypeScript, Python, and SQL.

    • Experience developing and supporting scalable cloud-hosted web services on AWS.

    • Experience using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).

    • Experience developing and optimizing queries and database access patterns for object and relational databases.

    • Experience designing and building product APIs.

    • Excellent attention to detail and a security-focused mindset.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Academic background in computer science or a related field.

    • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and an understanding of cryptography basics.

    • Experience working in both start-up and large company environments.

    • Excellent project management and execution skills.

    • Experience coding with Go/C/C++.

    • Experience working with GitHub Actions.

    • Demonstrated track record of working successfully with law enforcement or other government agencies.

    Job Summary:

    As a Senior Software Engineer at NAXO, you will be part of a highly skilled, cross-functional team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure and scalable software systems. You will play a crucial role in the development of software that supports some of the most elite law enforcement and legal teams in the world. Your work will require a deep understanding of security best practices and software design principles, as well as a high level of precision and detail orientation.

    Given the highly sensitive nature of our work, this position demands a strong security mindset and operational discipline. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and security experts to ensure our software is resilient, robust, and fully compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, implement, and maintain back-end systems that support complex web applications.

    • Collaborate with peers through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

    • Triage, debug and resolve product or system issues.

    • Ensure systems are secure and inspectable by implementing appropriate controls and monitoring frameworks.

    • Develop and maintain technical documentation to accompany software code.

    • Evaluate new product ideas in partnership with key stakeholders.

    Job Summary:

    The Managing Director - Cryptocurrency Investigations role will be responsible for conducting cryptocurrency investigations and serving as an expert witness in support of ongoing litigation. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and be able to identify, analyze, and synthesize relevant information from various sources to support investigations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct cryptocurrency investigations, including tracing blockchain transactions.

    Analyze blockchain data to identify patterns and anomalies.

    Create reports and other materials to summarize findings and support investigative efforts.

    Serve as an expert witness in support of ongoing litigation, including providing deposition or courtroom testimony.

    Collaborate with other members of the investigative team to support ongoing investigations.

    Stay up-to-date on the latest cryptocurrency developments and emerging threats.

    Develop client relationships by leveraging existing contacts, attending conferences, and/or publishing relevant articles.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, cybersecurity, or finance).

    At least ten years of experience in cryptocurrency investigations or a related field.

    Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, including knowledge of various blockchain networks, cryptocurrencies, and exchanges.

    Hands-on experience using COTS tools, such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, and/or TRM Labs, to conduct cryptocurrency investigations.

    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources.

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field.

    One or more advanced certifications related to cryptocurrency investigations, such as Chainalysis Investigative Specialist Certification or TRM Advanced Crypto Investigator.

    Experience serving as an expert witness in litigation.

    Former law enforcement experience.

    This role requires a high degree of technical expertise and a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The successful candidate will be able to think creatively, work independently, and collaborate effectively with other members of the investigative team. The candidate should also have a strong commitment to ethical conduct and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations. Prior experience serving as an expert witness in litigation or former law enforcement experience is a plus.
